The Creative Designer will concept and create hand-made samples as needed.  Samples include items such as handmade cards, scrapbook pages, and papercrafts.  This person will strategically be involved in developing creative samples that are not only on trend for the industry, but will focus on driving sales with a variety of customers in the stores.  In addition, the Designer will be responsible for overall coordination, communication and organization of created samples that are used to showcase creative ideas for our customers and for advertising and marketing purposes.   

Responsibilities include:

  • Create all product and idea samples to inspire customers, maximize sales and to meet company needs
  • Work with merchandising department to determine appropriate products to use for samples
  • Ensure samples are cost effective and completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain and organize inventory
  • Provide communication and documentation to merchandise department
  • Create product item lists for workshops and events
  • Provide creative technique communication and training to stores and customers
  • Effectively communicate sample direction to stores
  • Create written instructions for internet and intranet use
  • Participates in social networking  as appropriate to meet company needs


  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business or related field preferred
  • Strong computer skills; MAC based software including Photoshop and Quark, and MS Office
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent creative experience with scrapbooking, card-making, paper-crafting and other relevant crafts with the ability to represent a variety of styles and crafting skill levels.
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of Archiver’s and/or retail business
  • Ability to alter creative style to meet the needs of customers and strengthen product sales
  • Passion for our business and the creative process

Submitted samples should be good examples of a variety of styles and techniques. Samples should encompass some beginner level, easier projects and some more detailed, advanced techniques. A broad use of different types of scrapbooking and stamping products is also suggested. These samples should represent the breadth of your design ability. The samples required are as follows:

  • 4 scrapbook pages
  • 3 cards
  • 3 papercraft projects, other than cards or scrapbook pages
