Position Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a Merchandise Buyer at our corporate office in Minnetonka, MN. In this challenging, hands-on position, this individual will plan and manage assigned categories of business to meet Archiver's brand and financial goals including product selection, pricing and vendor relations. This person will also attend trade shows and identify new product and merchandising opportunities.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and execute buying strategies for assigned categories to meet brand, category, revenue, gross margin, and turn goals. 
  • Product selection, purchasing, pricing, promotions.
  • Direct and communicate merchandising plans to stores including calendar of store sets, new product introductions, plan-o-grams, presentation standards, and exit strategies for discontinued product. 
  • Manage vendor relationships; negotiate discounts and special terms / events.
  • Maintain key indicator reports that analyze and measure category and vendor performance.
  • Attend key industry tradeshows.
  • Research trends and competitive markets; identify new product and merchandising opportunities.
Requirements

  • style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"> size="3">3-5 years buying and merchandising experience with a
    consumer products company.

  • style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"> size="3">Proven ability to plan buying strategies and deliver
    results.

  • style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"> size="3">Experience implementing merchandising plan-o-grams and
    presentation standards.

  • style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"> size="3">Creative product aptitude paired with strong analytical
    skills.

  • style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"> size="3">Experience managing and developing long-term vendor
    relationships.

  • style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"> size="3">Excellent team building abilities with strong oral and
    written communication skills.

  • style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"> size="3">Motivated to work in an entrepreneurial, evolving
    organization that is fast-paced and growing rapidly.

  • style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"> size="3">Experienced and comfortable using Microsoft Office
    software’s (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as having the
    capacity to learn and use other software
    packages.

  • style="FONT-FAMILY: Georgia; mso-bidi-font-family: Arial"> size="3">Knowledge of scrapbooking industry
    preferred.
